CentOSでFlashを作るための仕組み

やったこと：
・Java Runtime Environment (JRE) をインストールする
・Flex3 SDKをインストールする

JREのダウンロードとインストールはこちらを参照。
Flex3 SDKについてはこちらの記事を参考に、アドビのページからFlex3.3 SDKをダウンロードしてインストール。置いておくディレクトリは /usr/lib/flex3 としておいた。
なお、このとおりにやると /usr/lib/flex3 より下はパーミッションがrootのみになってしまうので、ディレクトリは755、バイナリも755、その他は644でchmodしておいた。この辺、すんごい大雑把。

で、環境が整ったところでこちらを参考にテスト用のファイルを作ってコンパイルさせてみる。
Java上で動作しているせいか、やっぱりコンパイルには少し時間がかかる。それでも、無事にコンパイルが完了したのでよかったよかった。
ちなみに、textField.textの値に日本語(UTF-8)を入れてみたら、ちゃんと表示された。どうやら言語パッケージのようなものは必要なくなったらしい。

さて、これで任意の文をFlashで表示させる手段ができた。
めざすは……縦書き表示。

追記：
frameworks/flex-config.xml の<target-player>タグの要素がデフォルトだと9.0.124になっている。
これは要するに、コンパイルするときにターゲットとするflash playerをバージョン９に定めているということ。
このままだと、Flash player 10で新たに使えるようになったパッケージの存在を無視してコンパイルしてしまうので、例えば（縦書きで必要な）flash.text.engineのような新機能パッケージを使ったActionScriptをコンパイルすることができず、エラーになってしまう。

これを回避するには、の要素を10（現在のバージョンだと10.0.22）にすればよい。

<target-player>9.0.124</target-player>
↑これを、

<target-player>10.0.22≤/target-player>
↑と変更する。

いやぁ、これに気づくまで、かなりハマりましたわ……（汗）
